LGBTQ

According to recent studies, people in the LGBTQ community are two and a half times more likely to have mental health issues such as anxiety or depression than those in other communities.

There are issues many LGBTQ people confront that are well suited for exploration in counseling such as:

  • Complex identity issues including sexual, gender, cultural and personal identities.
  • Family issues, marriage and parenting
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Career
  • Discrimination
  • Shame/guilt

In psychotherapy, you can work on addressing issues arising from, associated with or complicated by your sexual orientation, so that you can be your unique, fully functioning self at your desired potential.
